Most people associate hotel rewards programs with being able to earn points for completing a hotel stay. Priceline.com operates a little differently; instead of awarding you points for each stay you book or for every dollar you spend, it ties its program directly to its Priceline Rewards Visa card.

Earning Points With the Priceline Rewards Visa

If you frequently book trips using Priceline, the Priceline Rewards Visa credit card is a great option for you. Not only will you receive up to 5,000 points after you make your first purchase with the card, you’ll also receive another 5,000 points if you spend $1,000 or more with your Visa within 90 days of opening your account.

When you use your credit card to make any eligible purchase on Priceline.com, you will receive five points per $1 spent. For all other purchases, you will receive one point for every $1 spent.

Redeeming Your Priceline Rewards Points

When you’ve earned enough points, you’ll be able to redeem them for a statement credit on any travel-related purchase of $25 or more, including any of the following: airlines, hotels, motels, timeshares, campgrounds, car rental agencies, cruise lines, travel agencies, tourist attractions, discount travel sites, trains, buses, taxis, limousines and ferries.

To sweeten the deal, Priceline.com also offers a 10 percent rebate on points (as long as they’re redeemed on travel purchases above $25 made in the last 120 days). For example, if you were to redeem 10,000 points, you would receive a credit of 1,000 points back into your account to use on your next redemption.

Bonus Cash Rewards at Priceline

As a Priceline rewards member, you’ll be given the opportunity to receive bonus rewards deposited directly into your account. These points will act just like cash and can be used toward future travel purchases on Priceline.

If you are booking a Name Your Own Price hotel, Priceline will add the bonus cash to your bid so that your chances of winning increase. Let’s assume that you’re trying to book a three-night hotel stay and have $30 in bonus cash available. That would break down to $10 extra per night. If you plan on bidding $40 per night on your hotel, Priceline.com will increase your nightly bid to $50 to help increase your chances of winning the hotel.

Other Perks of the Priceline Rewards Visa

The Priceline Rewards Visa card is a Visa Signature card, which means you get a lot of extra benefits, including lost luggage reimbursement, travel accident insurance, roadside dispatch service, purchase security and more.

The product comes with an introductory 0% APR for the first 15 months on balance transfers; the APR for purchases ranges between 14.99% and 24.99%, based on creditworthiness.

A big draw for this card is that it has no annual fee or foreign transaction fees; balance transfers costs either $5 or 3% of each transfer, whichever is larger, and cash advances will run you $10 or 5% of the amount.
